“Just remember that the things you put into your head are there forever, he said. You might want to think about that. You forget some things, don’t you?Yes. You forget what you want to remember and you remember what you want to forget.” – Cormac McCarthy, The Road
So often we put things in our heads that shouldn’t be there. Each morning we awake with a choice between good and evil and that includes the words we use to define ourselves. Will we be Out of shape? Depressed? Unloved? Unworthy? Have we been wronged? Maligned? Defamed?
Or will you wake Joyous, Content, Grateful, Excited and Amazed.
Like the swarm of scooters that have descended on America’s busiest cities—they sort of remind me of the thoughts I describe. Like those scooters, will your thoughts be discarded, misused, dangerous? Cast aside like meaningless rubbish?
Or will they swiftly get you to where you need to go, with economy and elation?
Thoughts are scooters. An interesting metaphor. Choose yours wisely and enjoy the ride. — Tony Felice
